The history of railways in Armenia begins with the construction of the Tbilisi-Alexandrapol-Kars railway in 1985. After 4 years, the first Armenian train went to Alexandropol (Gyumri).
The railway has always been of great importance in the development of the country, which was developing rapidly during the Soviet years.
The museum was opened in 2009 at the Yerevan station. The entire Armenian railway history is presented here, from the day it was built to the present day. During the exhibition, you can see examples of historical documents, many photos, train models, etc.
